Bender Training Systems joined the fitness experts of the NAFC to practice and enhance upon the underlying principles embraced by Joseph Pilates. Recognizing the needs of today’s very diverse general population, we continue to evolve the Pilates method in developing a safe, effective, and accessible method of training.
Our progressive training programs incorporate a strong foundation in functional movement and postural assessment. We continuously incorporate the latest findings in exercise science and rehabilitative therapy into classic Pilates instruction. All exercises taught in our programs have been biomechanically analyzed to ensure safety. Learn about the traditional pilates exercise that you should avoid as well as how to do postural assessments to lead your students to greater success!
This is a prerequisite course for Pilates Coach training series. Learn how shortening a muscle can create imbalances, creating dysfunctional movement patterns. Understand that all muscles physiologically have a tri-plane action of loading, stabilizing and unloading. Learn how to train your students to produce the most effective bio-mechanical movements using proven safety techniques. Students will leave with an improved understanding of anatomy and physiology as they pertain to their clients and to real movement patterns.
Developing the eyes of a critical thinking trainer starts here. This course will assist new as well as seasoned instructors to be more adept at assessing body types and to determine appropriate movements for each. Learn to do initial postural assessments necessary prior to working with any new client. Develop skills of looking at individuals as a whole by observing their gait and the way they move. A prerequisite for Mat 1 & 2, or CEC.
This Mat One course is the foundation to begin Tri-plane Pilates and prepares students for Reformer 1 & 2 courses. Learn much more than just memorization of a manual. Learn how to instruct as a critical-thinking trainer who is capable of understanding the anatomy of a particular exercise and the purpose of each movement. Students can expect to leave with an improved understanding of "nontraditional" Mat One exercises and how to apply them in a multi-level class setting. A 2-year certification and a pre-requisite to Reformer 1 & 2.
Tri-plane Pilates Mat level 2 is a continuation of level 1 using new tools to enhance sequencing and program design. Students will take their understanding of Mat One to a whole new, creative level of training! Learn and experience the use of Pilates "tools" using "GLIDERS", tubing and mini balls. Exercises will not only be magnified, but also open up a whole new concept of training with Tri-plane movement methodology. A 2-year certification and a useful CEC toward Reformer 1 & 2 certifications.
When the reformer is used in our method of training it becomes functional. You will learn much more than being supine and primarily working in one plane of movement. Tri-plane Reformer training utilizes all three planes of movement in positions of the body that translate into daily activities. Our program thinks outside the box and requires you to view each student uniquely. You are not required to memorize exercises but to understand them, their purpose and for whom they are appropriate. A 2-year certification and prerequisite to Reformer 2.
This is where you will truly hone in on the skills of a seasoned Functional Movement Specialist. Learn the broader meaning of functional movement concepts, how to analyze dysfunctions, and how they relate to quality of movement using the sure-fire method approved by the NAFC and the Pilates Coach. A 2-year certification.
