This is a prerequisite course for Pilates Coach training series. Learn how shortening a muscle can create imbalances, creating dysfunctional movement patterns. Understand that all muscles physiologically have a tri-plane action of loading, stabilizing and unloading. Learn how to train your students to produce the most effective bio-mechanical movements using proven safety techniques. Students will leave with an improved understanding of anatomy and physiology as they pertain to their clients and to real movement patterns.
Anatomy and Physiology is an overview of each of the eleven organ systems that help the human body function. They are the integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system and the reproductive system. The organs in each system work together to accomplish a common goal. At the same time each system has an individual goal of its own.
